Professor-cum-producer Matchindra Chate wants to release the film in key languages across the world.

Besides being an educationist, Professor Matchindra Chate (Chate Classes) is also a creative filmmaker. Having produced two successful Marathi movies ‘Bindhast’ and ‘Chimani Pakhare’, Chate now awaits the release of his film ‘Friendship’ in January. Incidentally, he calls this multi-lingual film ‘India’s first global venture’.

The Priyadarshan directorial casts Tabu as a cop. In the past the actor was a part of Priyadarshan’s hits ‘Virasat’ and ‘Hera Pheri’.

Coming back to Chate, the producer says, “The film has already been made in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. It will take about a year to distribute it in other widely-used languages of the world. I want this to be India’s first true global venture.”

The film, as its title suggests, talks about friendship. “It’s about two innocent college girls who get involved in a controversy and eventually get arrested,” he says.

Will the professor then desert his established profession to concentrate on filmmaking? “No, coaching is my priority. If my teachers come up with a problem, I will solve that first,” he adds.
