Nearly a month after being admitted to Hinduja Hospital, the ‘special’ patient who occupied bed number 16 on the 14th floor was discharged on Sunday. Imaaduddin Shah, 20, son of actor Naseeruddin Shah had been admitted to the hospital after he fell from a Churchgate-bound local train between Lower Parel and Mahalaxmi station and suffered multiple fractures on November 23.

Imaad, a student of St Xavier’s College, had been admitted to Nair Hospital initially after RPF personnel patrolling the area found him lying on the railway tracks.

He was later shifted to the intensive care unit of Hinduja Hospital. Head of orthopaedic department Dr Sanjay Agarwala who was treating Imaad said, “He is fine but will take time to recover. Though he suffered multiple fractures to his hands, he is recovering quickly and shall be able to strum the guitar soon.”

The budding theatre artist had recently made his Bollywood debut with the film Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota which was directed by his father Naseeruddin Shah.
