NEW DELHI: In a major relief to the unaided private schools in the city, the Delhi High Court on Friday allowed the schools to have interaction with the parents but not interview for admission of the children in the nursery class.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice M K Sharma and Justice Hema Kohli allowed the schools to have interaction with the parents to the extent that they can verify the veracity of the information they have given to the schools while getting their children admitted.

The court also asked the schools to follow the Ashok Ganguly committe's report for this academic year as it is a stop gap arrangement in compliance of the court's earlier order.

Ashok Ganguly committee has recommended that the schools should not conduct interviews of the parents while at the time of admission of their children in the nursery class.

The court was hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking directions to the schools to stop parent's interview at the time of admission of their children in nursery class.
