Indian swimmers sink without a trace at Doha Asiad

Freestyle swimmer Virdhwal Khade and butterfly exponents Arjun Muralidharan and Ankur Poseria were eliminated on Sunday.

DOHA: The Indian swimmers' challenge continued to sink without a trace with the early elimination of freestyle swimmer Virdhwal Khade and butterfly exponents Arjun Muralidharan and Ankur Poseria at the Asian Games on Sunday.

Khade clocked 1 minute, 54.44 seconds while finishing third in the third heat of the men's 200m freestyle which gave him overall ninth position. The top eight qualified.

Muralidharan and Poseria could do no better in the men's 100m butterfly heats and ended up fourth and seventh respectively in the same race with poor timings of  56.16 and 57.14 seconds respectively.
