LOS ANGELES: Actress Pamela Anderson said she hopes to split with rocker husband Kid Rock on good terms, but was worried Wednesday over the media's fascination with their breakup after just four months of marriage.

The 39-year-old blonde bombshell expressed concern for her children amid the flood of headlines about her divorce from the musician, born Robert Ritchie, because they "don't know the difference between fact and tabloid."

"I'm very concerned with the press on mine and Bob's divorce. I know I have people who want to defend me or people who want to defend Bob, but my children can read, and I'd like to resolve this amicably -- not fueling fires -- and with dignity," the former Baywatch beauty said on her website on Wednesday.

"Truth is," she said, "Bob is great in many ways -- we just don't belong together... we mutually agree."

"I love my children, he loves his son... we both have wonderful family and friends as support going through this time," she added in her first reaction to the media maelstrom triggered by Monday's divorce announcement.

Anderson had three wedding ceremonies with Kid Rock, tying the knot aboard a yacht off the south of France on July 29, before legalizing their union in a Beverly Hills ceremony on August 3.

They then held an on-stage wedding at a Nashville music venue on August 17.

Documents published by the TMZ.com celebrity website showed Anderson filed for divorce at the Los Angeles Superior Court, with lawyers citing irreconcilable differences.

Lawyers acting for Kid Rock also filed divorce papers.

Anderson was previously married to rock star Tommy Lee, of Motley Crue fame, from 1995 to 1998. She has two sons, aged 8 and 10, from that marriage.

Anderson starred in the 2003 comedy horror hit Scary Movie 3 and headlines the television show Stacked.

She also made a cameo appearance in the smash-hit mockumentary Borat, where she is lusted after by the fictional Kazakh journalist of the film's title, played by British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen.
