Cops foil dacoity in Bandra

Sleuths of the Crime Branch foiled a dacoity attempt at a jewellery shop in Bandra on Friday night, arresting three of them who were armed with choppers and revolvers.

The arrested dacoits were identified as Deepak Laltaprasad Singh alias Guru alias Rajesh More (27), Pravin Yashwant Ghadi (31) and Zuber Mohammad Aslam Sheikh (22).

The crime branch officials had been tipped off that five persons were planning a dacoity at a jewellery shop at Turner Road in Bandra (West). The police laid a trap and arrested the dacoits as soon as they arrived in two Maruti cars. Two of their accomplices known as Pappa alias Nepali and Satnam Singh alias Seth escaped.

Dy Commissioner of Police (Detection-I) D T Shinde told DNA “the suspects were found carrying  a country-made revolver, three live cartridges, and some articles which were meant to commit dacoit.”
