After completing her course in Criminal Justice, Sanjay Dutt’s daughter wants to have a go at Hollywood

She’s been kept out of the public eye most of her life (at least in India) but Sanjay Dutt and Richa Sharma’s daughter Trishala is now growing big on the New York modelling scene and is the latest upstart to catch Hollywood’s eye.

According to a recent online interview to planetbollywood, Trishala revealed she has already passed up three Hollywood roles — including one in the upcoming James Bond flick ‘Casino Royale’.

“Everything happens for a reason. I had to make a choice: Either sacrifice my entire life and pray the film does well. Or, I finish school and get a degree in something solid, so just in case, I have something to fall back on. I chose college over those films releasing now that I could have been in. I’m still young. There will be others,” she is reported to have said.

While her dad’s Gandhigiri is now a cult, Trishala is opting for lawyer-giri. She’s currently pursuing a degree from Cuny John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. While she admits her dad isn’t keen on her joining Bollywood (“Girls are used mainly as props for films, which he does not want me getting into”), she’s very much in touch with him.

“I have a very strong relationship with him. Most people think he and I aren’t very close, but they’re wrong. Just because I don’t see him everyday doesn’t mean we are not close. I talk to him, I’d say, every three days,” she’s said.
