The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) is looking for a man who is said to be the main supplier of drugs at rave parties in the city.

Sources said search operations had been intensified after the recent party in Gorai, where 16 people were arrested. At least 80 were detained at the party, but many were let off on bail.

ANC officials said they would grill the organisers arrested for the Gorai episode. Preliminary investigation point to the involvement of an international drug mafia.

S Pandhare, assistant police inspector, said, “The arrest of two main organisers, Raju Roy and Imran Akhtar Darvesh, on Thursday pointed to the possibility of the involvement of  a celebrity. They are from higher middle-class families and carried highly addictive drugs.” Surprise raids are now likely at nightclubs.
