Pizza, pretty petunias, peanut butter and now porn — the home-delivered world is growing alarmingly fast.

The streetside porn CD sellers of Fort have started free home delivery. You call up and within an hour, a guy is ringing your doorbell with a dozen explicit porn videos. The free home delivery facility is mainly offered on bulk purchases of ten or 15 discs. But if you establish a rapport with your street vendor, he’ll ensure that every time a new title arrives, you’ll get a call.

Clients claim that the home delivery of porn CDs and DVDs eliminates the embarrassing situations that arise while looking for porn flicks along a crowded sidewalk. Moreover, all these CDs are pirated.

“Home delivery is available only if you order more than 10 movies at a time,” said Sameer Bharadwaj (name changed), vendor at DN Road. The delivery is made within hours if the buyer lives in nearby suburbs like Bandra or Mulund. Customers living in far-flung suburbs need to place the order a day before they plan to watch the movie. Vendors claim that weekends are flooded with home delivery requests.

Irrespective of whether it is soft porn or hardcore XXX, each DVD is priced at Rs100 while VCDs come at Rs50. But vendors inform that a DVD is a better choice as far as print quality is concerned. In case the customer is not satisfied with the print quality, it is can be replaced. Further, you can watch the movie and return it to the vendor to get a chunk of your deposit ranging anywhere between Rs30 to Rs50 back.

“We offer a payback because no one wants to stock blue films at home. It also gives an impetus to the buying and returning cycle. Therefore, a customer happens to buy much more than what he usually does,” said the vendor. A bulk purchase also ensures a discount of Rs20-25 per movie.

Bandra resident Piyush Rathi (name changed) claims that he easily manages a neat discount. “These guys are just like the vendors on Fashion Street. They’ll bargain with you, provided you are seriously interested in the purchase. Many a times, college kids just fool around and pay the price by getting manhandled,” he said.

Interestingly, vendors claim that they posses a handsome collection. “School girl se lekar call girl tak ka story hai,” is the opening line of most vendors. Vendors also brief customers on the content of each DVD. Movies are segregated in separate blue coloured polythene bags on the basis of story and degree of skin show.

So what do the cops have to say? “We can begin our operation only after a complaint is registered against the vendors. The complaint should mention the area in which these vendors operate,” said KB Agarkar, senior police inspector, social service branch.
