‘Fame Gurukul’ (Sony) is back on SAB with a whole new look and a new name to boot. Titled ‘FameX’, this show promises to be modern and spunky.

Announcing this initiative, the senior VP and business head of SAB channel Vikas Bahl says “A large part of this show will have reality based content. We will focus on honing the talent rather than changing it over a period of time. It will be more cutting edge than the earlier show.”

The channel has been airing shows like ‘Left Right Left’ and ‘Twinkle Beauty Parlour’ with a view to attract younger audiences. “‘FameX’ is another show that will bring in younger viewers to the show. The ‘X’ in ‘FameX’ stands for the potent X factor that is so talked about in India nowadays. We will be looking for this aspect in participants in their performances, singing talent and in every little trait of theirs that makes them connect with the viewers,” says Vikas.

The channel will be conducting auditions across select Indian cities from  October 10 and will span over a period of three weeks.

The judges, principal and hosts have yet to be finalised for the show. The show is expected to go on air in the second week of November.

Vikas concludes by saying, “The timing of the show is perfect. The winner will sing a song for the Indian cricket team and it will aired during the World Cup.
