Power supply to CM’s house disconnected

NAGPUR: Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company officials on Monday disconnected power supply to the official residence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Ramgiri, as a step to recover dues to the tune of Rs 1,20,000.
 
The action comes as a part of drive to recover huge dues from defaulters particularly state government offices, MSEDC sources said, adding, the officials are disconnecting power supply to offices in the Collectorate.
    
Sources said the Public Works Department which maintains Ramgiri has failed to pay Rs 85,000 and Rs 35,000 respectively of two electric meters of the bungalow, sources said.
    
The spokesman of the company said Rs 45 lakh as dues was yet to be recovered from the defaulters.
