BHOPAL: Flight operations at the Raja Bhoj Airport here were partially affected on Friday as a portion of the runway was waterlogged due to heavy rains, a senior airport official said.

"Around 1,000 feet of the runway was waterlogged due to incessant rains and we have declared only 5,700 feet area available for use," acting Airport Director, Shakti Deo said.

Waterlogging has caused cancellations of Indian flight IC-133 from Mumbai as it is an airbus requiring more area for landing and take-off, he said.

Stating that flight operations were partially affected, he said Air Deccan and Jet Airways flights from New Delhi have already arrived.

"If the rains stop or recede substantially during the day we will be able to clear the runway by pumping out water," Deo said adding that evening flight schedule would be depend on the weather conditions.
