Producer Manish Goswami says that the legendary cricketer has been his guiding force.

A bunch of celebrities, including Subhash Ghai, attended the party hosted by producer Manish Goswami to celebrate the completion of 200 episodes of the show ‘Kituu Sab Jaanti Hai’ (Sahara One). But legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar’s presence came as a surprise.

Goswami explains, “Sunil is a family friend. He has been a guiding force and an inspiration to us for the last 12 years.” He continues, “Since the theme of our party was ‘Kituu scores a double century’, we felt that Sunny would be the perfect guest. The icing on the cake (literally) even had a cricket bat and ball on it as a symbol. Also, the first episode had the tomboyish Kituu (Ami Trivedi) playing cricket on the streets.”

Had Sunil watched any of the ‘Kituu…’ episodes?  After a brief pause, Sunny replies, “Honestly speaking, I have not been able to watch any of the new shows. I have been touring extensively. I did watch a few episodes of ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin’ and also loved watching ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’.” He adds, “Yes, but the show has received favourable reactions. It’s considered refreshing.”

While Sunil posed with Ami, the actor couldn’t help saying, “His presence has made our ‘200 not-out’ celebrations memorable.”
