Lufthansa resumes flights to Heathrow

German carrier Lufthansa on Thursday said it was resuming flights to London Heathrow airport after cancelling 36 flights during the day after British police said they had foiled a plot to attack transatlantic flights.

FRANKFURT: German carrier Lufthansa on Thursday said it was resuming flights to London Heathrow airport after cancelling 36 flights during the day after British police said they had foiled a plot to attack transatlantic flights.
 
A Lufthansa spokeswoman said 5,000 passengers had been affected by the cancellations.
 
Low-cost airline Air Berlin said it was cancelling majority of its services to Britain on Thursday.
