Sensex rebounds to close up 129 points

MUMBAI: The stock market benchmark Sensex weathered the depression seen in early trading and bounced back above the 10,000-point level to end higher by 129.46 points at 10,215.37.

The 30-share Sensitive Index, which had lost 210.56 points at the outset, recovered sharply on revival of buying by mutual funds.

The National Stock Exchange index Nifty closed higher by 40.85 points at 2785.95, after touching a low of 2878.25.
