MUMBAI: Attractive quarterly results announced by IT major Satyam Computers failed to lift the trading sentiment, as the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex continued to roll down, losing 311.82 points at mid-session on Friday.

The selling activity was spread and pulled down stocks in almost all segments, placing the Sensex down by 311.82 points at 10,041.12 at 1.00 p.m. The National Stock Exchange index Nifty also lost 91.85 points to 2,931.20.

The market, which opened lower following a globally weak trend, slid further as funds resorted to brisk selling, discounting all positive factors such as attractive results announced by Satyam.

Satyam Computers, however, remained in positive mode and recorded a gain of Rs 3.70 at Rs 692.25, while other IT stocks like Infosys, Wipro and Tata Consultancy traded lower.
