MUMBAI: Traffic is gradually easing up in Mumbai following the bomb blasts that rocked the city.
DCP (Traffic) Satish Mathur said in the evening, there was a gridlock because the entire Western Railway commuters had come on the road.
''In the evening, there was a backlog of traffic on the roads resulting in heavy traffic,'' he said.
The Western Eexpress highway is clear and traffic is moving, he said, and added that even the roads leading to hospitals where the injured have been admitted, are clear.
Mathur urged people not to block junctions, which would block the traffic. ''Many people came out on roads to offer water and food to stranded passengers on the roads. It is not required now,'' he said.
