With the weather all misty and grey and drippy, it’s an ideal time to stay in bed. Hot Italian male fantasies aside, most women opt for a great book, hot coffee and their fave music. We asked three city gals their ideal choice of ‘bed cosy’ this season:

Sohini Jaitley, model

“I prefer watching movies in the monsoons, but when I get the urge to read a good book, I don’t turn to fiction. I’m currently reading ‘Many Lives Many Masters’ by Brian L Weiss and I tend to pick up books that will help hone my tarot reading skills. I can’t stand romantic music in the rains if I’m away from my boyfriend – it depresses me so I stick to trance. When I’m home, I usually listen to some light morning trance and feel good.”

Koel Puri, actor

“In the monsoons, I like reading fantasy fiction – romantic, magical stuff. I totally avoid anything too heavy because it just gets very depressing. My ideal read is ‘Franny and Zooey’ by JD Salinger right now. Also, I’m currently into very folksy music, Masa Wainwright especially. I also end up listening to the blues and Bob Dylan but that invariably makes me blue!”

Simone Singh, TV anchor

“I’m currently reading ‘Shantaram’ by Gregory Roberts but on a wet afternoon, I’d ideally curl up in bed with Jane Austen or Mark Twain. I listen to a lot of classic rock but during the rains it’s gotta be Van Morrison, Jackson Brown and Simon and Garfunkel.”
