NASIK: The body of a 14-year-old girl, who had been missing from Bhagur since July 4, was found in army areas at Devlali camp, leading to protests outside a police station by angry residents alleging inaction in the case.
Priyanka Charansingh Lakaria, a Class 9 student, was last seen returning to her house in Bhagur, 13 kilometers from here, in an auto-rickshaw but later went missing, prompting her parents to lodge a complaint, police said today.
The teenager's body was found in Shingve-Shivar in Devlali camp last night, they said.
Alleging inaction in the case, a large group of people pelted stones at the local police station this morning, damaging the car of Police Commissioner Himanshu Roy, police said.
Police resorted to baton-charge to disperse the mob, they said adding security has been tightened in the area.
