Four JeM militants killed in J&K

SRINAGAR: Four Pakistani intruders affiliated to Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit were killed near Line of Control on Sunday as army foiled third infiltration attempt in over a week in Baramulla district.

 

One militant was killed in Pulwama and a fierce gunbattle was going on in Bandipora area the district, while ultras blasted a house and set ablaze another.

 

A gunbattle broke out between militants and security forces at Gamru village in Bandipora area of Baramulla around 3.30 p.m., police said.

 

Deafening sounds of explosions and intense gunshots were being heard as security forces are trying to neutralise the ultras, police said, adding the whole village was under tight cordon and further details are awaited.

 

Troops guarding the LoC in Gulmarg sector spotted a group of militants trying to sneak into this side at Budpathri in the wee hours and challanged them. In the ensuing gunbattle four JeM militants were gunned down, a defence spokesman said.

 

Four AK assault rifles, 20 magazines, 300 rounds, a wireless set and 16 hand grenades were recovered from them, he said.
