LONDON: French star Mary Pierce has pulled out of Wimbledon because of tendinitis in her right foot, an injury she has been struggling with since February.

Pierce, 31, missed the French Open with the same problem. Former champions Serena Williams and Lindsay Davenport have also pulled out of this year's women's singles because of knee and back injuries respectively.
