After an extended maternity break of a year, Namrata Baruwa-Shroff is ready for some action, albeit of a different kind. The former model and TV presenter will soon be showing off her new hobby – carvings in acrylic. “I’ve been learning this craft from my grandmother for a while now and we’ve already had our first show in Mumbai. We’re heading to Kolkata next,” she informs.

Married to business magnate Vikram Shroff for the last five years, Namrata reveals that she’s adjusted to domestic life quite well. “I’ve known Vikram for half my life…that just makes things easier,” she adds.

With so many skeletons popping out of the closets of her former colleagues from the entertainment world, how did Namrata manage to maintain her squeaky, clean image? “It’s not too difficult to have a sane lifestyle. The choice is all yours,” she says. Of course the fact that she was “too busy with work and college to go astray” helped.
When she does get back to work, Namrata says she has no plans to get into Bollywood, in spite of already starring in one film, ‘Rules: Pyaar Ka Superhit Formula’. “I just did that for fun. I have no aspirations of becoming an actor,” she stresses.

For now, she’s happy juggling between her one-year-old baby Mekhala, her interior design practice and piano lessons. “My baby is my first priority. Plus, I’m in the middle of doing up my new home, so I’m not really sure how long this career break will last,” she signs off.
