The actor strikes a balance between TV and films

I believe: Commercial success does matter (referring to ‘Veer Zaara’) though it took a while for me. The actor is the same but being presented well brings more recognition. Now roles are conceived keeping me in mind.

I vouch: I am a sincere actor. I have the zest of a newcomer. I approach every role with the same excitement. This makes me a favourite with my directors. My time has begun now.

I confess: Winning an award is a high! At an award function, there are all creative people around you who have proved their worth and are sharing the moment together. That moment is euphoric because you’ve worked hard for it.

I learnt: It’s a lonely journey. People leave you when you fail and join you when you succeed. Fortunately for me, there were those who had faith in me.

I cherish: The finest compliment that I received was when somebody called me ‘the female Sanjeev Kumar’. Coming from a non-film background and having achieved everything on my own, this makes me feels special. I’m here to stay.

I need: Love is important for all. It’s an emotional tonic. Considering the stressful lives we lead, it’s important to belong to a normal world. There’s somebody in my life about whom I will talk about in good time.
