Irrespective of the length and texture of your hair, the look this season screams individualism. The focus is your hair style being intrinsic to your personality.
The style: Structured with lots of texture, long pieces of hair interestingly coloured to draw attention to the focal points of the haircut. Fringes, extensions, messy hair with a lot of movement are all in!
The colours: Cinnamon, coffee, oatmeal or chocolate. Rich shades of browns and bronze dominate.
Short ‘n’ cool: If your hair is short, it’s already relatively stress-free and easy to manage. A disconnected fringe gives your look an edgy, modern feel to it.
Day: To get great looking easy to manage hair, follow a four-step process: wash, condition, towel dry and use a light styling product. A wax works wonders for a messy, tousled look.
Night: Go glam! With a straightening iron get poker-straight strands or spikes. Slick these back with a heavy-duty styling gel and spritz on the shine spray. If you’re not too product friendly blow dry or tong your hair and hit the town!
The long haul: If you’re a Rapunzel re-incarnate, don’t fall prey to heavy, boring, unmanageable hair. Layers add bounce, texture and volume to your mane and take away the weight.
Day: Long hair that’s messy with movement (think: Teri Hatcher) gives off the ideal low-maintenance gal vibe.
Diva you may not be, but the look is yours for the taking. In towel dried hair, scrunch in a light hold styling product, toss on your glares and head for the door.
Night: For a super-stylised look, try soft curls or poker straight layers that Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Anniston currently sport. Work a small amount of volumising gel into your hair (though go easy, you don’t want to turn into Diana Ross!). Use a blow drier/ tongs/ velcro curlers to get your look. Add on the shine spray and watch the heads turn!
