Say he never had any serious complications.

The parents of Vivek Moitra have alleged foul play behind his death. They said the 39-year-old suffered from diabetes and blood pressure, but had no serious complications.

"His diabetes and blood pressure were well under control. We suspect foul play," Biman and Lila Moitra said on Friday.

Residents of the Kendriya Vihar Colony in Kharghar, they were informed about their son's death by Vivek's friends. Father Biman said, "The information they (friends) provided was sketchy and we came to know of the details only through TV. Pramod Mahajan's death had left Vivek depressed and shaken. Vivek was associated with Mahajan for 15-16 years.'

"Like the late BJP leader, Vivek, too, led a hectic life and spent most of his time in Delhi or at his Worli flat. Because of his hectic schedule, he couldn't meet us, but he would enquire about our health often on telephone," Lila said.

According to Lila, Vivek was non-vegetarian. He rarely complained of any illness, including cardiac complaints. He was a diabetic and took medicines regularly, she said.

Lila said, "He was very considerate and ready to help anyone in need. If I was working in the kitchen, he would come and enquire if help was need and only go to bed after I finished my chores."
