SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Friday ordered personal appearance of Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the infamous sex scandal case allegedly involving several high-profile politicians, police officers and businessmen.

After hearing the proceedings of the case "in camera", the division bench of the court comprising Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain and Justice Bashir Ahmad Kirmani ordered the assistant solicitor general SA Naik to ensure the presence of the CBI director in the court on June 6, the next date of hearing.

"In view of the submissions made, the stage of investigation and the new materials which have emerged, we feel it would be appropriate to hear from the director of CBI about the course of future investigation. Accordingly SA Naik shall ensure his presence in the court on the next date of hearing," the court ordered. The court also expressed dissatisfaction over the speed of the investigation process. "We find the investigation is not going on at the desired speed," the court said.
