MUMBAI: With the arrival of monsoons in Mumbai, old melodies like Pyaar hua ikraar hua hai and rain songs are raining on FM channels.

Radio City station head Krishna Iyer said, “The monsoons have arrived early this time, they actually conned us. But this hasn’t upset our schedule drastically. We are working on two levels-keeping in touch with the Met department to keep our listeners posted and we have been playing rain songs. Listeners have been calling in and everybody is looking forward to get wet.”

Radio jockey Vijay Akela affirmed this new found love of Mumbaikars. “We have welcomed the rains with playing songs from old movies. We have been playing songs like ‘Aaj rapat jaayein’ regularly.”
