Badal, wife seek court's nod to visit US

ROPAR (Punjab): Former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his wife Surinder Kaur Badal, accused in corruption and disproportionate assets cases by the vigilance bureau, have sought court permission to visit United States from May 13 to June 6.

Both have moved separate applications in the court of special judge S K Goel in this regard. While Badal has sought the permission to go to the U S for the check up of his eyes by a retina specialist on May 16, his wife wants to go along with him as his attendant.

After entertaining the applications, the judge issued notice to the state for April 29.
