PUNE: Prime accused in the fake stamp case Abdul Karim Telgi and his wife and co-accused Shahida were on Saturday discharged from the Sasoon General Hospital where they had been admitted for treatment after they fell unconscious in their barracks.

Telgi and Shahida, who were lodged in the Yerwada central jail, are HIV positive and suffer from various other diseases.

While Telgi fell unconscious in his egg-shaped cell at Yerwada on April 1 and was admitted to hospital the same day, Shahida was brought to Sasoon on April 20 under a similar condition, their lawyer Milind Pawar said.

He said both of them have been discharged from hospital and taken to the jail.

Thirty tests were carried out on Telgi and he was given the anti-reaction treatment, to which he did not respond to, Pawar said.

Telgi's daughter Sana and his nephew Irfan were there with him in the ward consequent to the special MCOCA court order, the lawyer said.
