Warrant issued against actor Khushboo

A Madurai court on Friday issued a warrant against Tamil actor Khushboo in a case relating to her comments on pre-marital sex.

MADURAI: A city court on Friday issued a warrant against Tamil actor Khushboo in a case relating to her comments on pre-marital sex.

When the case came up for hearing, Khushboo failed to appear before the court, following which magistrate Seetharaman ordered issuance of the warrant.

Khushboo was at the centre of a controversy following her remarks during an interview that there was nothing wrong in a woman having pre-marital sex as long as she protected herself from contracting venereal diseases.

Her comments drew widespread protests from women and other organisations and some political parties.
