'Thodi Khushi Thode Ghum' is a joint family opera that claims to be different.

Taking a cue from the plethora of joint family soaps on the small-screen and also apparent inspiration from Karan Johar's mega film 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', Shobhana Desai Productions (of 'Ek Mahal Ho Sapnon Ka' and 'Alpviram' fame) is coming up with their new soap 'Thodi Khushi Thode Gham'.

Scheduled to be premiered on April 24 on Sony, this is the saga of a joint family with an authoritative patriarch- Mansukhlal (played by renowned Gujarati actor Arvind Rathod) as its nucleus.

Feudal in temperament, Mansukhalal strongly believes that men are superior to women. But he meets his match in his third-daughter-in-law Sneha (Deepa Parab). Hailing from a nuclear family she is progressive in thought.

TKTG also marks the comeback of actor Amit Jain (Ronit in 'Yeh Meri Life Hai'). The cast also includes Harish Patel, Jhankana Desai, Nirmal Shah, Kapil Soni and Sejal Shah. The serial is directed by Azeez Khan and Apoorba Acharya.
