HYDERABAD: Expelled BJP leader Uma Bharti on Thursday came out in support of BJP-JD(S) efforts to form an alternative government in Karnataka and said the "exit of Dharam Singh would be a good development."

"Dharam Singh's government is a non-performer and it is good to get rid of him," Bharti told reporters here.

She was here in connection with 'Padayatra' in Karimnagar and Warangal districts to study the issue of farmers' suicides.

Asked about BJP's role in the efforts to oust Dharam Singh government, Bharti said "It is justified if the intention is to help people and not to make money."

She accused Congress-led coalition government of ignoring the plight of farmers in the face of continued suicides in the state.

"The farmers there are facing lot of problems and they should be addressed immediately along with the rehabilitation of the families of those who committed suicide," Bharti said.
