A day after the news of four-year-old Mahi, who died after she fell into a borewell at Kho village near Manesar shocked the nation, a similar incident happened in the city courtyard.

Six-year-old Sahil Babu Pisal, a resident of, Ramnagar, Chinchwad died after he fell into a well situated at the backyard of his school at Mohannagar on Monday afternoon.

A first standard student of DB Nimbarkar Primary School, Sahil went to the rear end of the school where the well was situated to urinate. “Despite the facilities of toilets and bathrooms available in the school campus, it is strange that Sahil went outside to urinate. The well is situated 100 meters from the school,” Ayush Nimbarkar, school authority told DNA.

It was Sahil’s first day in school. The school authorities informed that there was unwanted grass near the well where Sahil had gone to urinate. He fell inside the well while searching his way back to school. One boy, who had seen him falling into the well, informed the school authorities about the incident after he failed to rescue Sahil despite attempts.

The fire officials were called on the spot to search Sahil and after an hour’s effort Sahil’s body was recovered from the well.
He was admitted to a private hospital in Chinchwad where he was declared dead.

Sahil’s father Babu Pisal works as a driver and has two sisters. Earlier, Sahil studied at the Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule English Medium Nursery School.
