Principal district judge Anant Badar on Wednesday sentenced a 21-year-old youth to 10-year of rigorous imprisonment for raping a four-year-old girl in 2011.
Additional public prosecutor Vikas Shah examined 8 prosecution witnesses. The prosecution relied on the medical examination reports of the girl, doctor who examined her, the owner of the under construction building where the incident took place and also the shop owner, who sold him chocolate. The convict Rajesh Mansaram Sharam, hails from Balrampur in Uttar Pradesh and was residing in Thergaon when the incident occurred.
As per the prosecution case, Sharma worked as a labourer at a construction site close to the site of offence. The victim’s mother was acquainted with Sharma, as she hailed from the same village.
On October 12 2011, the accused lured the girl to come to the terrace of an under construction building and promised to buy her chocolate. An eyewitness noticed Sharma fleeing away from the site after the incident. He was beaten up after the crime and then handed him over to the police.
The victim’s family went back to UP after the incident. APP Shah said, “In his statement the medical officer has mentioned that the girl had to be operated thrice due to brutal sexual assault.”
