A Pune-based online magazine, The Bombay Review organised a workshop for literature lovers and enthusiasts on January 19 over a cup of coffee. In collaboration with Cara Café in Viman Nagar, the session was open to all the interested people. The workshop included poetry recital and short-story sessions which was attended by over 60 young writers and poets in the café along with The Bombay Review team.

The organisers of the workshop said that they want to encourage the culture of writing in the country in whatever little way they can by involving amateur writers and experienced ones with each other. The team members also performed a play on the famous short story, The Luncheon, by William Somerset Maugham.

"I write a lot of articles, short stories and poems. Through such gatherings, we are able to understand, appreciate and analyse the works of other amateur writers, which gives us a better platform to express our ideas," said Labanya Maitra, 18, who is pursuing an undergraduate course at Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communications. The organisers are planning to hold more such workshops in future after receiving a warm response from the young crowd. The best story written by the participants during these sessions will be published in the next edition of The Bombay Review.
