Yellow bags best film at Prabhat awards

Pune: Marathi film Yellow, which is based on the success story of a special child, has won the second Prabhat Award for the best Marathi film while child artiste Gauri Gadgil, who hails from Pune has won the award for the best child artiste for the film. Esselvision won the award for best marketing and promotion of the film Duniyadaari. 

Prabhat Award film festival was held between May 2 and 8 and Yellow won the best film award competing with other 58 Marathi films released this year. Films like Astu, Rege, Duniyadaari, Fandry, 72 Miles Ek Pravas, Aajacha Diwas Majha were in the race for the best film. 
This is the second year of the Prabhat awards and the films are selected by accommodating the opinion of the common filmgoers in addition to views of the experts. Mahesh Limaye won the award for best director for film Yellow while Mohan Agashe and Iravati Harshe won the award for best actor and actress for film Astu. Gauri Gadgil and Somnath Awghade (Fandry) won the award for best child artistes. Esselvision won the award for best marketing and promotion of the film Duniyadaari. Shriya Pilgaonkar and Abhijeet Kulkarni were adjudged as the best debutants while Hrishikesh Joshi, Amruta Subhash won the awards for best supporting role while Jitendra Joshi and Ankush Choushari won the awards for supporting actor in negative role and comedy respectively.
