Two city dancers qualify for Miami dance competition

Have won national-level Dance Congress at Bangalore

City dancers Soonruta Kothadiya and Bhavin Shukla have won the Indian International Dance Congress held at Bangalore from July 10 to 14. The pair has qualified for the Latin dance competition to be held at Miami in December 2013 directly for its qualifying rounds.

Over 1,000 dancers and trainers had participated in the International Dance Congress 2013 organised at Bangalore by Latino Rhythm Dance Academy.  There were competitors from Europe, US, Latin America, Australia, and Asia. Latino Rhythm Dance Academy founder director John Anthony has been all praise for the Pune dancers for their performances at the competition.

Pune dancers had been undergoing training at ‘Danza De La Liga’ (The League of Dance), the organisation which teaches Latin Dances in Pune. Its team of dancers participating in this competition won overall four trophies. Of these, Soonruta Kothadiya , partnering Bhavin Shukla, won
the first prize in the All India Professional Bachata Dance competition and with this both have now qualified for the International Latin Dance Competition.
