A 35-year-old woman was allegedly molested by a ticket checker on a moving local train on Wednesday. The Pune unit of the Government Railway Police (GRP) have registered a case under the relevant sections of Indian Penal Code against the 50-year-old TC. The GRP claimed that this was the third incident of molestation against the same TC.

The woman, a resident of Rahati, Pimpri, lodged a complaint with the GRP on Wednesday evening against the TC Babashaheb Kisan Bhosale. However the police are yet to arrest the TC.

Abhay Parmar the inspector in-charge of GRP said, “The woman boarded the train at Pimpri and was to travel till Pune station. She had got a job offer in Fatima Nagar, so she planned to take an autorickshaw from Pune station. Around 2.30 pm, Bhosale came and asked for ticket. After seeing her ticket, he threw it outside the window claiming that the ticket was meant for general and she was seated in first class. When she asked why he threw the ticket, he held her hand. She avoided any protest as she was scared. Even then, after the train arrived at the Pune railway station, he allegedly dragged her to the TC room and molested her. He also fined her Rs265 for travelling in the First Class without a proper ticket.”

This is not the first incident of molestation reported against Bhosale, Parmar said. He has molested and manhandled two other women before in 2009 and 2011. In 2009, he had molested a 34-year-old woman, a resident of Ulhas Nagar in Mumbai on platform number one when the woman lost her ticket. In 2011, a 26-year-old woman who was searching her mother on the platform was caught by Bhosale. He dragged her to the room and molested her.
