Pune: With monsoons round the corner, travel agents are already flooded with requests for the ‘wet’ vacations.
From budget destinations like Lonavala and Lavasa to high-end destinations like Leh Ladakh, Kerala and Kashmir, travel agents say that the demands are varied.
According to Sandeep Joshi, an agent with city’s Veena World, the booking for Leh Ladakh tour was filled in just 10 days and osts in the range of Rs. 22,000 to 28,000 depending on the length of your trip, from 10 to 15 days. Other destinations like traditional Amarnath Yatra, Himachan Pradesh, Goa and Amboli are also prefered for short, budget friendly, five day trips.
For Neha Jagtap, an agent with Lucky Travels, a trip to Mahabaleshwar during the rains is very popular..So far, around 10 couple have confirmed their bookings for the destination. A one-night and two day trip costs Rs 8000. As the monsoon descends, trekkers around the city are off with their backpacks to enjoy the greenery.
Devendra Gogate of Foliage Outdoors, wildlife and adventure holidays, said, “We have one night treks led by experts, where you climb up to the fort on day one, and then explore it the next day.”
