Pune: They look alike and their names rhyme. They match each other so perfectly that they are not comfortable with anyone except each other. They are twins and sports persons, stars in their own right. Meet these twins, who have made the city proud in their respective sporting fields.

Aniket Sakpal and Sanket Sakpal are one such pair of twins, who play for two different hockey teams in the city. Luckily, they do not resemble each other. Sanket is older (by two minutes). Born to police constable and hockey player Prakash Sakpal, these twins
say their first love is hockey.
Aniket dons Super XI colours while Sanket plays for Police Linesboys, the local hockey team. “We share everything from clothes, shoes and other things but there is no compromise when it comes to the hockey,” said Aniket.
The twins were just five when their father Prakash introduced them to the game. “Sanket was the better player.
So when it came to choosing teams Aniket chose another one to prove a point,” said their father.

The Nair twins, Saanika and Sarika are double trouble in basketball. Unlike Aniket and Sanket, they wear the same colours at the national level. “They confuse opponents as they look alike and their coach has asked them to wear different earrings so that he can tell one from the other,” said their mother Sudha. The Nair twins have also proven themselves in academics. It is a healthy contest between them and they are in the 90 per cent marks bracket,” said Sudha. Besides playing basketball, the twins dance and paint.
