Thanks to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and railway officials of Pune Division, a Sangli resident Sujeet Devendraprasad Shaha (34) finally got back his peace of mind. The railway police returned his lost bag to him which contained gold ornaments and Rs2 lakh.
According to RPF, “Shaha was travelling by Mahalaxmi Express train, which left Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and was on its way to Kolhapur on Thursday. He boarded the train with his wife at Pune. At Sangli, the couple got out of the train and later realised that they have forgotten a bag inside the compartment which contained two mobile handsets, a gold chain, four gold rings and cash of Rs2 lakh. The Shahas approached the Sangli station manager who quickly informed his counterpart in Miraj, the next halt for the train. Vilas Patil, head constable, Miraj Station swung into action after getting the information. When the train reached the Miraj Station, Patil and another RPF cop rushed to the H1 birth where they found the yellow bag on berth number 17.”
