A group of youths created a ruckus at a residential complex near Hinjewadi IT Park Phase I on Saturday midnight.

 The group was partying loud in a drunken state. When the residents complained and asked them to stop the party, they were beaten up by the youths. 

The drama went on till early Sunday and stopped only when the Hinjewadi police detained some of the youths.

The incident took place at Signor Homes near Hotel Orittel in Hinjewadi Phase I. The Hinjewadi police have taken preventive action against Rehaman Khan (24), Vipul Sharma (23) and Gaurav Gujar (24) - all residents of Sarthi Signor Society.

Recalling the incident, a resident said, “The group was playing loud music and they were drinking in the balcony of a flat on the ninth floor. Some local residents approached the flat and tried to warn them, but the youth were in drunken state and started abusing them.” 

“We had to inform the police control room after which the police reached the flat and warned them. An hour later, they again started playing loud music and started beating the neighbours who had gone to their flat requesting them to stop the music. We had to call the cops again. This time the police detained three youths on Sunday at 5 am,” he added

Parshuram Patil, inspector (crime) of Hinjewadi said, “The trio were detained and we have taken preventive action against them and warned them. Local residents have no complaint against them.”
