Pune: Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar virtually threatened the elected representatives of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and said that they would face the music if they do not work for the victory of party candidate in Maval Lok Sabha elections.
“I can make you mayors and standing committee chairman and if you don’t abide by my instructions, I can remove you anytime,” he said.
Pawar held the first rally which launched the election campaign for Maval Lok Sabha candidate for NCP Rahul Narvekar. The public meeting was held at Vaishali Mangal Karyalay Talegaon.
Narvekar, former minister Madan Bafna, MLA Dilip Mohite, city unit president for Pimpri-Chinchwad Yogesh Bahl and others were present at the event.
Pawar told PCMC corporators that he was different from his own uncle NCP president Sharad Pawar and his style of functioning too is different. “There are a few corporators who behave differently after the sunset and I warn them that they cannot afford enmity with me.”
He said added that Maval has a highly educated candidate in Rahul Narvekar. “Each one of us has to work for his victory. I have started from scratch in Pimpri-Chinchwad.”
