One of the country’s most popular dance reality shows – the ongoing DID Super Moms – is a ray of hope for those mothers who always wished to pursue their passion for dance after marriage and motherhood.

Having started the season with 16 dance contestants, the competition has now got tougher with only the top-ten remaining to battle it out among themselves. That is why when DID skipper Prince, and Top ten contestants Radhika Das, Shivangi Vajpayee and Manjula Roy Chowdhury were in the city on Saturday for a performance at Nehru auditorium, we did not leave the chance to have a little tete-a-tete with them.

“Our experience on this show has been amazing. It has given mothers like us a platform to prove our talent and a chance for the world to see that even mothers can dance,” says Shivangi, adding that it was only because of her family’s support that she could reach so far in the competition.

For Radhika, who was an assistant choreographer to Vaibhavi Merchant before she became a mother, DID was just the platform she needed to start dancing again after a gap of two-and-a-half years. “After becoming a mother, I could not dance for a couple of years. But thanks to DID, I’ve been able to prove it to myself and my husband, who is a choreographer, that I’m still the same,” says the versatile dancer, who has tried her hand at every dance form.

They all agree that each and every participant of the show is unique in their own way, which makes the competition between them even tougher. “Every participant of the show is great in her own way. So it is very difficult to say who is the strongest contender among us. I’m scared of practically everyone here and even myself, as I don’t know what I’ll be performing next week,” says Manjula, adding that she has never felt this energetic before.
For Prince, who has been associated with DID, since the first season,(first, as a contestant and now as a skipper), he couldn’t be more grateful for the platform the show has given him.
