Aniruddha Rajbinde, Secondary School Certificate (SSC) student from Garware school, could not stop thanking the counselling helplines started by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

The counselling helped me to solve the geometry paper in a better manner, is what Rajbinde wrote in the appreciation letter. He also met the board officials on the last day of the SSC exams.  This has prompted the board to seriously think of starting the counselling helplines at the beginning of the year instead of few days prior to the exams.

The officials said, “After receiving a positive response for the last four years to our counselling helplines, we got to know that if the services are offered at the beginning of the year, it would help students understand the subject’s perspective. The officials added, “Similarly, the students would be better prepared. This will also release the unnecessary pressure on students.”

Counsellor Sharadchandra Botekar said, “Rajbinde had called me before the exam and was very tensed as he was not confident of solving the geometry paper. During the counselling, I told him about how to study, discuss the topics he completed with his the parents, concentrate on the textbooks and solve each and every theorem. He followed the counselling religiously,” said Botekar. “After the paper, he called me up and thanked me for the tips. He said that he is now confident of scoring good marks,” added Botekar.
