With fewer trucks coming into the market yard, prices of potatoes and onions have witnessed a rise this week. The only solace for buyers is that the price of tomatoes has reduced by 50%.
While prices of green leafy vegetables have dipped, cluster beans seem to be the most expensive vegetable this week with prices reaching up to Rs45-50 per kg.
On Sunday, about 160 trucks of vegetables came into the market yard, and the quantity of tomatoes was doubled.
The Market yard received 2.5 lakh bunches of coriander and 1.5 lakh bunches of fenugreek (methi), thereby leading to a dip in price of coriander this week.
