Sex racket busted in Wadgaon Sheri

A sex racket was busted at Kumar Primeveera Society at Sainathnagar, Wadgaon Sheri and 11 persons, including six girls, were arrested by the Yerawada police on Sunday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Krushna Dev, Narbhadur Koirala, Ajay Shetri, Dargesh Shetri and Bharat Kolhapure among others.

Acting on a tip-off, the police team led by police sub- inspector VT Patil raided flat numbers 701 and 903 of the society.

The police said that the arrested suspects used to deal with customers outside the society and send the girls to different lodges in the city. The local residents came to know about the business a few days ago. Following which, they passed on the information to the police.

The Yerawada police have lodged a complaint under relevant sections of IPC, 1860, and prevention of immoral trafficking act (PITA).
