Pune: Pune district collectorate has received an order from the Delhi court asking it to seize a flat owned by German Bakery blast accused and one of the active members of banned Indian Mujahideen (IM) Mohsin Choudhary at Manisha Complex in Mithanagar on Wednesday.
After receiving the order, the officials from Haveli tehsil office had gone to the complex and issued an order to Mohsin’s parents who are presently staying in the flat. Speaking to dna, resident Nayab Tehshildar (Haveli) Dilip Bandal said, “We have received an order from collector office today and accordingly we went to the complex and asked Mohsin’s parents to vacate the flat by Thursday.”
As per the procedure, the Haveli tehsil officials will go to the complex on Thursday and will seize the flat. “As per the procedure, we will lock the flat, conduct video shooting and send a detailed report to the court immediately,” he said.
Chowdhar is one of the active members of the IM group and wanted in various bomb blasts that took place in various parts of the country. Speaking to dna, a senior officer said, “Choudhary is an active member of IM. A few months ago, Choudhary had called a prominent city builder seeking extortion money of Rs10 crore. The builder who is considered to be close to Union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar, had received as many as eight calls from Choudhary.”
“Choudhary is one of the trusted lieutenants of Iqbal (Bhatkal) and is independent enough to head a sleeper cell,” the officer said.
Incidentally, Mohsin’s brother Akbar has been arrested by the Mumbai crime branch and was thereafter taken into custody by the Gujarat police for his alleged role in the July 26, 2008 serial bomb blasts in Ahmedabad.

Who is Mohsin Choudhary?
Choudhary is a resident of Manishanagar Complex in Kondhwa, Pune. Mohsin was last seen in the city in 2008. That was just before the Mumbai crime branch busted an IM module in Kondhwa. Choudhary managed to escape then and had reportedly fled to Bangladesh. The agencies and the police were left baffled when it was learnt that Choudhary sneaked back into the country and executed a terror strike at German Bakery on February 13, 2010. A senior police officer said that Choudhary is a close friend of Iqbal Bhatkal, who is the brother of Riyaz Bhatkal alias Roshan Khan.
