SEED IT Idol 2014 scans Pune: Are students industry ready?

All colleges affiliated to University of Pune have been directed to take part in test of 'C' programming

 The fourth edition of ‘SEED IT Idol 2014’ competition for the students of engineering and computer related programmes, was launched in Pune to test their computer skills in ‘C’ programming and computer fundamentals.     

The information technology (IT) Idol in Pune is being organised by SEED Infotech in association with the University of Pune (UoP), wherein students of engineering, MCM, MCS, MCA and all other computer-related educational programmes from all colleges affiliated to the UoP are eligible. The first round of the competition has already began. 

Speaking about the initiative, executive director, SEED Infotech, Bharati Barhate, said, “Our aim is to tap the huge talent across colleges and make it industry ready. This year our target is to reach out to students across Maharashtra and for the first time to certain regions in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Jaipur and Bangalore.” 

She said that in the last 20 years they have spread across the country with 47 centres.  

Speaking on the occasion, Pandit Shelke, director, Board of Student’s Welfare, UoP said, “For this competition we have directed all colleges under UoP to participate. It is an opportunity for students to get industry ready through skill development required for future industrial applications.”
