School Boy molested by Van driver in Pune

Pune: The Yerawada police have arrested a 21-year-old school van driver for allegedly sodomising an 11-year-old boy of a city-based reputed school for the past five to six months. Police said that the victim, a class V student, finally broke his silence and narrated the sufferings to his mother following which a complaint was lodged and the driver Amol Ombale, a resident of Vishrantwadi area, was arrested. Police said that the driver used to perform unnatural sex on the boy in the school toilet and even used a public toilet in Vimannagar to commit the heinous act. Assistant police inspector Devendra Chavan of the Yerawada police station said that Ombale used to ferry schoolchildren in his van. He used to take the boy inside the toilet of the school and sodomise him. “While ferrying the boy in his van, he even took him to the public toilet in Vimannagar and while ferrying him in the van. This went on for almost five to six months and when the boy once protested, the driver allegedly bit him,” said a police officer.The boy, who was traumatic due to the sexual harassment and abuse, used to be reticent. His mother noticed this change and took him into confidence. The boy then broke his silence and burst into tears and narrated the incident. “Following which, the boy’s mother rushed to the police station and lodged a complaint against the driver. He has been arrested under relevant sections of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act,” said Chavan.
